The possibility is shown of applying ERFs in electrostatic clutches for fix ing flat metal and rigid parts, whose surfaces are to undergo fine turning. As demon strated, the use of a fluid, the structure of which responds to an electric field, as a clutch ing layer improves the technological characteristics of the product and increases its reliability.
