Abstract
The purpose of this study was to understand online adult education doctoral students’ perspectives regarding the benefits of participating in a structured, faculty-led meeting group. Using an action research approach, we sought to gather information that would inform our practices related to a doctoral student meeting group, which has been used as a socialization and support strategy in the program for over a decade. The data, collected through a survey, focus group interviews, and facilitator reflections, were analyzed thematically and used to develop practical action steps for ensuring that the meeting group continues to meet doctoral student needs and effectively support them through their online doctoral journey.
