Abstract
Today many municipal and campus police agencies are moving toward community oriented policing policies and practices. It has been noted that one of the most important steps a police agency must take as part of a comprehensive community oriented policing strategy is to solicit information from its community members. This article describes the efforts of a police department, serving a large university, to solicit input from students, faculty, and staff members as part of its community policing initiative.
