Abstract
Client satisfaction of 57 adults living in 12 group homes was examined in relationship to measures of their managers' competence and program normalization. Data were obtained from resident and manager interviews and written assessment of manager competence. Satisfaction with group home placement was related to manager competence and to the degree of community use for group home residents. Regression analysis of these factors showed manager competence in normalization practices to be a major predictor of placement satisfaction. Managers competent in normalization practices also had programs with a high degree of community integration.
