SageTrack/MSCentral (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jvdi) provides very good computerized support to facilitate the peer-review process, and Managing Editor Holly Farrell and I continue to attempt to simplify and streamline the process for our volunteers.
In our continuing quest to explain and bring all involved up to speed on the process of scientific writing, peer review, and publication, we are running a session Thursday, October 13, at the Greensboro 2016 AAVLD annual meeting titled “Best Practices for Submitting, Reviewing, and Publishing Manuscripts in JVDI.” This session is open to all members, and we look forward to a productive gathering of both new and experienced authors and reviewers.
Also, as we evolve, we have updated the Instructions to Authors (located at http://vdi.sagepub.com/) to facilitate trouble-free production of manuscripts.
With all of the above pieces in place, JVDI is able to offer an excellent venue for publication of material of interest to AAVLD members and other laboratorians, in a timely manner, in a well-respected and highly rated peer-reviewed journal.
