In the article entitled “Atypical scrapie/Nor98 in a sheep from New Zealand” by Reinhold Kittelberger et al., the following reference regarding the first case of atypical scrapie in Australia: “A case of atypical scrapie/Nor98 has recently been confirmed in western Australia (report in preparation for Australian Animal Health Surveillance Quarterly, June 2010)” was cited incorrectly. The Australian atypical scrapie case had been reported as follows: Butler R: 2010, First occurrence of atypical scrapie. Australian Animal Health Surveillance Quarterly Report 15(1):5.
