Abstract
The Career Development Program is a nationally recognised, award-winning student-centred program designed to deal with the three university-wide learning and teaching initiatives: Transitions In; Work Integrated Learning; and Transitions Out. The program is oriented to preparing students for university; planning for and taking advantage of ‘real world’ workplace learning experiences during their studies; and preparing them for their professional careers. In response to 21st-century learners' needs and learning preferences the program comprises 30 unique online, interactive modules, which nest within a clear, concise, defensible organisational structure across six individual programs. The program is designed to attract, retain and graduate students who reflect a confident, informed and self-managed approach to ‘real world’ learning and successful employment. The flexibility of the program is designed to maximise student engagement through all stages of a student's higher education and life experiences.
