The management of remuneration is seen as a key plank in the shift to strategic
human resources management practices. Indeed, remuneration management
now demands a strategic approach to ensure that an organization's pay system
fits the organization's quality goals.
This paper argues that a new approach, referred to as Total Quality Pay,
is needed to sustain organizational improvements gained through the application
of quality management principles.
