Australia is no longer a remote continent but rather an island of change, affected daily by the fluctuating
fortunes of American, Asian and European economies, currencies and international political alliances.
Not only, therefore, is "no man an island" but neither is any nation, organisation nor individual manager
an island alone. We are all part of a world environment in which changing external influences promote
systemic change within organisations and individuals.
