Abstract
This article provides some guidelines to personnel managers who may be experiencing problems with the on-going maintenance of job evaluation in their organisations. It defines job evaluation and enumerates its benefits. It provides suggested maintenance procedures which include — staff communication; job analysis and the gathering of information for evaluation purposes; the committee system of evaluation and how it operates; and the role of the evaluation co-ordinator.
