Jobs and Technology: Research Report Offers Basis for Optimism

Abstract

This Report, produced by the Bureau of Industry Economics and entitled 'The Long-run Impact of Technologi cal Changes on the Structures of Australian Industry to 1990-91' claims that technological change in the next decade will NOT lessen the growth of the unskilled workforce. The Report indicates that while there would be an overall upgrading of skills in the workforce to 1990-91, strong growth could still be expected for some unskilled jobs.
