Abstract
Since writing my paper 'The Challenge of Post Industrialism" (hrm, Autumn 1979) I have had some additionat insights and the benefit of discussions in Europe with others attempting to analyse the impact of technology on a changing workforce - Simon Nora, author of Nora Report 'L' informatisation de la Societe', Sir Ieuan Maddock, FRS, Secretary of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, Lord Young of the Institute of Community Studies, and Dr. Jonathan Gershuny of Sussex University. (The Nora Report will be published in an English translation by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in August 1979).
