Environmental refugees include people who are displaced due to non-human induced disasters, such as earthquakes, and those displaced due to direct human-induced environmental change such as large scale dam projects.

Majority World is an alternative term for ‘developing’ or ‘Third’ world. This term has none of the implicit hierarchy that Third World implies and is used to challenge the assumptions that the predominant model of development is achievable and desirable.
