Abstract
This paper describes the creation of the Digital Accounting Collection (DAC) hosted by the University of Mississippi library. Included are descriptions of the techniques, methodological issues, difficulties, limitations and opportunities encountered in creating a large (over 1,000,000 pages to date) open-access DAC. Some of the specific materials that have been digitised are listed. Most are part of the century-old collection of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; others are materials of the accounting firm Deloitte, its predecessor companies and the Academy of Accounting Historians. Some usage statistics are included. The paper is written by two of the people responsible for creating the University of Mississippi's DAC.
