Abstract
“Practical theology” is emerging as a key theme in recent literature concerned with the future of theological education. This essay explores this new orientation as a vital attempt to bring theological education into serious engagement with the socio-cultural, political, economic and ecclesial contexts shaping our lives. The final section of the essay seeks to evoke some resonances between “practical” and “postmodern” sensibilities.
