This article describes the experience of an American professor who taught a graduate information systems course at a French university. In addition to describing the overall experience, several problematic issues identified over the course of the semester are identified and discussed. Special emphasis is placed on three areas of differences: communications, technology, and culture. Awareness of these differences, their impact on course conduct, and possible solutions may be useful to other educators interested in conducting a similar course internationally.
