Abstract

Dear Editor, the publication on “Innovative 3D-printed porous TC4 prosthesis with nano-thin tantalum coating for treating complex wrist bone defects: A preliminary report of 3 cases 1 ” is interesting. Although this research is interesting in the introduction of Magnetron Sputtering (MSP) technology to apply to the development of talms (TA) on titanium alloy (TC4) for use in the treatment of wrist bones. But in terms of research methods, there are still many limitations. Especially in terms of sample size that has only 3 cases, which is not enough to summarize significant statistical results or support to be used in a wide range. It is also a Prospective Observational study. That does not have sampling or control groups Therefore cannot compare the results of other standard methods.
The crucial query that needs to be brought up for extensive debate is: In light of the price Will regular hospitals make advantage of the MSP coating technology? And what are the dangers or long-term safety measures of using metal in place of talam on humans? Including the impact on bone formation and the body’s long-term adherence to this substance.
When it comes to innovation This study is regarded as an exceptional pilot project. Particularly, the development and production of customized artificial implants with nanocoating that can be expanded to preserve bone abnormalities in further locations in the future. Long-term studies with a higher sample size should be the focus of the following research avenue. To fully embrace the clinic level, more comprehensive evaluation tools need be developed, together with a sense of control (RCT).
