Influence of Motivational Factors on Women Entrepreneurs in SMEs

Abstract

An attempt has been made in to analyse the role of socio-economic status and the motivational factors that influenced the women entrepreneurs to undertake business in Coimbatore district of Tamilnadu state. Primary data has been collected on 125 women entrepreneurs and the findings indicate that the married women having only school studies had undertaken sole entrepreneurship in service sector at the age ranging between 26–30 years. The analysis showed significant influence of investment, experience, profit and turnover over the financial sources and knowledge of technical know-how. It also finds that profit, technical skill possessed, previous experience and family member's advice are the motivating factors of women entrepreneurs in the SMEs.
