Abstract
This bibliometric analysis maps the evolution, foundations and emerging themes linking artificial intelligence (AI) with organizational agility (OA). Synthesizing fragmented literature across human resource management, governance, digital transformation and operations, it provides a consolidated science map of AI-agility scholarship. Using the SPAR-4-SLR protocol, 123 journal articles from Scopus and Web of Science (up to October 2025) were analysed via performance analysis, co-citation, bibliographic coupling and thematic mapping. Findings reveal three developmental phases (1997–2012; 2013–2018; 2019–2025) and demonstrate that AI-agility research is anchored in information systems alignment and dynamic capabilities. Four major research fronts emerge: AI assimilation and strategic agility, generative AI in management, AI-enabled supply-chain agility, and AI’s impact on leadership and work practices. Future directions include generative AI, blockchain and human-centred AI.
