Abstract
This qualitative study on cognition of health care seekers at the Government Unani and Ayurvedic Degree College Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh, has used the tools of medical sociology. Data was collected by methodological mixes—in- depth interview with the care seekers and intuition of the researchers. Certain health care seeking cognition of people and the interplay of some elements asso ciated with the health care modus operandi in Bangladesh has been fathomed through this study. The emergence of a rationally competent medical pluralism is hinted at. The study provides directions for further research as well.
