Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to disseminate information regarding the international research project titled ‘Information System Dynamics’ (ISD) initiated by Club lnformatique des Grandes Entreprises Francaises (IS) (CIGREF), France, an association of French and other European companies representing the users of information systems (IS) (CIGREF 2008a). This information is targeted at a wider community of researchers and practitioners globally, particularly in India, and is aimed at bringing in greater awareness of the key perspectives of this international research project among a variety of stakeholders. These include the communities of Iarge companies (users of information system (IS)/information technologies (IT), vendors, governments, academia, industry, and research institutions, among others. ISD would mobilize the collective intelligence of these communities and prepare them to plan for and create their own future. ISD has been designed as a multidisciplinary project, focusing on long-term impacts of IS/IT on multiple dimensions such as business models, innovations, human resource, best practices, and regulations. It consciously embraces the whole societal field as the canvass for IS / IT impact; and simultaneously focuses on the historical and the prospective dimensions. The project aims at mobilizing research expertise from several countries in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia, triggering new research initiatives which can form part of this project, or which can be bridged with this project.
