Abstract
This speech tries to highlight some glaring deficiencies in management education. Management courses are being run by a number of institutions. But except for a small fraction of these institutions, most of them provide poor quality education. We need to implement a system to ensure minimum quality standards. The teachers need to be given formal training so that knowledge is transferred meaningfully to the students. There are several qualities that a good manager must inculcate. However, these are not part of the present curriculum of management courses. Education should also inculcate the art of living joyfully.
