Abstract
This paper offers a brief historical account of the pacifist movement in Russia. It reveals many interesting facts about Russia behind the Iron Curtain. The contribution of Leo Tolstoy towards the peace movement in Russia is an important highlight of the writing. It may be observed in the paper that almost every type of peace movement had been informed by some kind of faith in God or belief in spiritual principles. The author aspires for the revival of the peaceful and non-violent traditions in Russian culture, underpinned by Russia's spiritual potentials.
