Abstract
The dearth of entrepreneurs is one of the reasons for the economic backward ness of a region. To induce people to launch business ventures, most govern ments offer various kinds of incentives. This paper describes the impact of financial incentives on the emergence of new entrepreneurs in a backward region in India.
