Centrifugal casting combined with anionic polymerisation of ε-caprolactam was used to obtain polyamide 6 tubes. These tubes were thermally treated (7 - 8 hours at 170°C) to improve their properties.
Comparative analysis of thermally treated and untreated products allows the conclusion that the thermal treatments improved the polymers’ crystallinity and the products became more suitable for certain specific applications (such as slide bearings).
