Abstract
This paper considers the relative performance of HNBR, NBR, CSM and CM Elastomers in a power steering environment. Also discussed are the effects of oxidised fluids and additive packages on the elastomer compound. The paper highlights recent changes in requirements for hoses in power steering applications and describes how HNBR can help hose manufacturers meet these requirements.
