Abstract
Several UV-sensitive polyarylates based on 1,3-bis(3-allyl-4-hydroxybenzylidene)acetone were obtained by interfacial poly-condensation foruse as potential photo-sensitive polymers. The structures of the UV-sensitive monomers and polymers obtained were confirmed using 1R, 1HNMR and UV spectroscopies. Their physical, chemical and mechanical properties were determined.
The investigations show that some of the new polymers possessing allylic groups as photosensitive side chains conjugated with bisbenzylideneketone groups exhibit different behaviour under UV light exposure from polyarylates based only on bisbenzylideneketone bisphenols presented in our previous work.
