This study deals with the thermal ageing of a polynadimide network of the IP960 type, with a secondary alcohol in the dianhydride bridge. An attempt has been made to provide a suitable representation of the network structure on the basis of the literature. Ageing in air at 300–360°C was then studied using FTIR, gravimetry, density measurements and flexural testing. The role of initially sorbed water was also investigated.
