Abstract
The peel strength of aluminium-aluminium joints bonded by an adhesive based on ternary 75/25/175 poly(vinyl chloride)/epoxidised natural rubber/carboxylated nitrile rubber blends was found to depend on moulding time. Dynamic mechanical studies of the Al-blend-Al composite structures provide useful information on adhesion. In addition, the composite structures were found to exhibit broad tan δ spectra from 0.093 to 0.411 over the temperature range from -2°C to 200°C. These composite structures may find use in various vibration isolation applications.
