For the present study, blends of ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) rubber with a thermoplastic polyolefin namely high-density polyethylene (HDPE) were prepared by dynamic vulcanisation. The physico-mechanical tests, IR spectra (recorded by attenuated total reflection technique) and aging behaviour of the binary blends were investigated, analyzing the effect of the rubber/thermoplastics ratio, the kind of reticulating agent and the percent of plasticizer on the properties of the prepared polymer blends.
