1 Russia's nuclear sector can be loosely defined as involving several major industries and agencies whose jurisdiction covers nuclear research, design and production programs. They include: the Ministry of Atomic Energy (MINATOM); the Ministry of Defense; the newly established Shipbuilding Agency; the Science and Technology Ministry; and some universities.
