This article is based on research work by the author. Information was received from 175 London-based organizations. The following activities were offered by them: libraries, advice/information services, bookshops, publishing, mother- tongue classes, dance and drama, film/video shows, art exhibitions and festivals and carnivals. Libraries, advice/information services, bookshops and publishing were studied in detail.
