Abstract
The BL Reference Division consists mainly of the former British Museum library departments. This is an account of the growing co-ordination within the Division itself, with the rest of the BL and increasingly with external library and information services. The article describes the co-operative schemes which have already been developed, the methods of consultation with the library and user communities and goes on to discuss the policy implications of a continued evolution towards resource sharing through networks. [Note: Any opinions are those of the author and are not necessarily British Library Board policy.]
