Abstract
The screen error of the integrating photometer has been analysed (Ulbricht sphere) by means of a numerical model consisting of a set of linear equations. The model has been verified by means of a set of measurements. Using this model in an optimization program axial symmetric patterns have been calculated for the reflection factor that produce minimum screen errors. By implementation of these patterns of the reflection factors it is possible to increase considerably the accuracy of the integrating sphere for light sources with arbitrary intensity distribution.
