Abstract
Numerical calculations of the radial transport of tungsten and heat are performed with a view to the practical application to incandescent lamps of the refined theory of the Langmuir model as given by Almer and de Ridder. From the results of these numerical calculations approximate formulae are derived for the transport of tungsten and heat per unit length of the filament, the formulae being power functions of the filament temperature and the filling-gas pressure. The values of the exponents in the power functions agree with those published by other author s.
