The authors contacted SAGE Publishing requesting that Figures 2C, 2F, 2G, 5C, 5F, and 5G be replaced with new images. The authors explained that after related experiments were performed again, new data came to light.
When the journal editors and the research integrity team requested an explanation, the authors did not provide further details but explained that the conclusions of the article remain intact.
In order to validate the original data and the new figures, the authors were requested to provide unedited figures from their experiments, as well as their raw data.
Despite multiple attempts to communicate with the authors, the authors have not complied with our request for the original data and unedited figures of the published article.
Due to unresolved concerns about the integrity of the original images and the overall integrity of the research, the article has been retracted.
The authors did not respond for comment when notified of this retraction.
