The distribution of light in a room is modelled by dividing the enclosed space into finite elements and the light flow into a finite number of directions. Illuminances, luminances and colour mixtures can be calculated and the spatial distribution of luminous energy can be visualised. Illustrations show modelled daylight distribution in a room and coloured beams mirrored and diffracted in a black enclosure.
