Abstract
This response contains a resubmission of the claim that the social processes involved in these cross-comments exemplify the major tenet of the principal essay: personal constructs stand as a central strand of the context surrounding interactions wherein actors carry on the psychological work of evolving social constructions. Responding-from their personal construct systems, Burkitt (1996) and Wortham (1996) reiterate the invalidity of the use of constructs suggesting individualism, descry the putative limited view of context found in the theoretical formulations offered in the principal essay (Mancuso, 1996), and repeat the social constructionist's objections to the use of cognitivist formulations. This response to their comments attempts to focus on and to elaborate those propositions in the principal essay that were aimed at obviating the points which they raise.
