Abstract
In a fairly associative way, this commentary is asking a couple of questions that came up as a result of my reading of the contributions collected in this special issue of Theory & Psychology. Without claiming to hold privileged access to the future, it will be asked what might or should be clarified next in advancing from the high level of reasoning and intervening presented by the present contributions. The following questions are proposed: How can we foster the solution of problems and the democratic discourse in a societal practice that is at the same time global and local? How can we grasp and contribute to the life of objects that in turn regulate our lives and our research efforts? How can we establish solidarity as the fundament of social reason? And, finally, how could we be open and respectful not only to the situatedness of our fellow citizens but also to their sufferings?
