Although I have been seeing various counsellors and psychologists for a number of years, I recently made the decision that I will no longer be seeing anyone. I think that I have grown too critical of much of orthodox psychiatric practice to gain anything useful from seeing therapists who are often sexist and who make judgements based upon their theoretical assumptions rather than actually listening to me when I try to tell them about my experiences.
