Abstract
The paper of Seignot in 1961 1 is the first clinical description of the use of haloperidol to treat the symptoms of Gilles de la Tourette syndrome (GTS). It is widely quoted in literature about GTS. However, it is not widely known that the single case involved had been subject to a frontal lobectomy prior to treatment with haloperidol. We present a translation of that paper and a discussion of its significance.
