The Hon. Jeremy Deedes, son of venerable Daily Telegraph journalist Lord (Bill) Deedes has twice retired from the group - well, almost. He was recalled to captain what looked a badly holed ship after Hollinger and Lord Black went to war over alleged unauthorised payments. Having overseen the sale of the papers to the Barclay Brothers, he retired again, only to be retained as non-executive vice-chairman. Now he's become chairman of the proposed new gambling paper, The Sportsman.
