Abstract
Mary Riddell meets former Press Complains Commission director and, later, Prince of Wales' spin doctor, and reports; "For a PR genius, he was rather coy about being interviewed." She also reveals that Bolland believes his successors have served the Prince badly, or foolishly. "Nor does Charles himself come in for undue veneration," she writes. "Bolland, who described him as 'weak' in his only previous interview, says now that Charles had his chance of marrying Camilla and missed it. Though none of his remarks are delivered with a sliver of malice, it must sometimes seem to his critics at the Palace that Bolland in exile is even worse than Bolland in situ."
