Abstract
The BJR's chairman emeritus recalls the man known as "The cardinal of Farringdon Road", who died recently. Writes Goodman: "I knew and admired Hugo Young not only as a superb professional colleague and crucial founding figure in the birth of this magazine, but as a wonderful human being and friend." Young was, Goodman remembers, a wonderful role model for young journalists.
