Abstract
Social engineering, occupying powers and evictions: the case of Lhasa, Tibet describes the forced evictions undertaken by the Chinese authorities in Lhasa, and the broader government housing and planning process of which they are part. It also considers their impact on the residents and on the urban form of Lhasa, the Tibetan capital.
