Abstract
In the five years since its formation, Homeless International has developed a unique strategy to realize its objectives. Drawing on the strengths and interests of the British housing and construction sector, it is trying to further a sectoral link between the North and South, educating those with whom it works in the North about development issues in the broadest sense and supporting NGOs in the South to gain access to the resources required to meet shelter needs. Central to such astrategyare the concepts of partnership, inter-dependence andmutual learning between institutions working to improve shelter for low-income communities throughout the world.
