Piecing it together: the struggle forthe Macarena nature reserve examines the difficulties in protecting an important gene bank and nature reserve in Colombia while also addressing the needs of local inhabitants. It describes howthe basis for reconciling competing demands was achieved, although the resources needed to implement this are still lacking.
