Abstract

Rehousing the urban poor: looking at women first examines the extent to which a project to rehouse squatters in C6rdoba, Argentina met the needs of women-headed households. It identifies a considerable proportion of "hidden" women headed households and demonstrates the inadequacies in house design and the unrealistic demands for self-help.
