Abstract
The information-seeking habits and preferences of Generation Z, also called Gen Z, have evolved significantly due to their deep integration with digital technology. Unlike older generations that relied heavily on traditional information sources, Gen Z predominantly accesses information through the use of digital technologies. This study explores the factors influencing Gen Z’s information-seeking habits and their preferred source of information. The Uses and Gratifications Theory and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) provide a theoretical framework for understanding the motivations behind their information choices and digital adoption patterns. In this study, information-seeking habits, technological influence over Gen Z, libraries’ impact on Gen Z’s information-seeking habits, the challenges and solutions in Gen Z’s information-seeking habits are discussed. Understanding Gen Z’s unique approach to information-seeking helps educators, librarians, and content creators develop more effective strategies for information dissemination in the digital age.
