Background: Russia's war against Ukraine has brought to the fore the issue of social and cultural transformations caused by the war. Purpouse: The article is devoted to revealing the position of the Russian library community regarding Russia's war against Ukraine. Research Design: Includes a combination of inductive discourse analysis and deductive analysis of materials from the websites of the Russian Library Association, Russian federal-level libraries and Russian regional libraries, publications in Russian professional library journals for 2022-2024, and media for 2014-March 2025. Study Sample: Study Sample is based on purposive sampling and includes only information created by librarians and that reflects the position of librarians. Data Analysis: During the analysis of the texts, attention was paid not only to clearly formulated ideas that were openly expressed, but also to hidden meanings that can be obtained due to the common context as a result of one's own interpretation, as well as their connotations, and the focus on the implementation of a certain result. Results: The main narratives related to the war, which are promoted in the Russian library space, typical library practices related to the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the position of leading Russian libraries and the Russian Library Association are highlighted. Conclusions: It is determined that despite the restrained official position of the Russian Library Association, the Russian libraries support Russia’s war in Ukraine through professional and volunteer activities and spread Russian propaganda narratives. It is proven that such a position contradicts the IFLA Code of Ethics (2012), which raises the issue of preserving Russian presence in IFLA.
